Emirates looking to hire 2000 cabin crew this year

United Arab Emirates

The Dubai based and owned airline has announced its plan to recruit a significant number of flight attendants during 2010.  The company has already re-opened recruitment for First Officers as they find the staff required to operate their continually growing fleet.

The carrier says it has a need for 2000 new cabin crew to supplement the 11,000 already employed.  The reason behind this continued recruitment when most other airlines are still waiting to begin looking for new staff is the 14 new aircraft the airline has taken on since March 2009.  These  deliveries include 8 Airbus A380's.

The Middle East saw growth of air passenger traffic of 11.2% last year despite the global economic downturn and Dubai's own financial fears towards the end of 2009.
