Boeing Dreamliner to debut at Farnborough
Boeing’s long-awaited Dreamliner will make its international debut at the Farnborough Airshow this weekend, and tours of the aircraft will be available for those at the show.
The manufacturer will bring flight-test aircraft ZA003 into Farnborough on the morning of Sunday July 18, where it will remain on the ground until midday on July 20, with tours available on the Monday and Tuesday.
Boeing is using ZA003 to “test and certify seats, galleys and associated cabin safety and comfort systems, among other test points”, with delivery to launch customer ANA currently slated for the fourth quarter of this year.
The Japanese carrier says it will fly its first commercial service with the B787 in January next year, although it has yet to confirm which routes the Dreamliner will appear on.
US airline Continental is also due to be among the first carriers to take delivery of the aircraft, and has announced it will roster the Dreamliner on to routes from Houston to Auckland and Lagos in late 2011.
