ExecuJet Aviation has started to move its entire UK operation at London City Airport to Cambridge Airport, where it has taken over the former Marshall Business Aviation FBO facility.

EADS’s board of directors has selected Tom Enders, CEO of Airbus, to succeed EADS CEO Louis Gallois when his five-year term expires at the end of May after the company’s annual meeting. At that time Arnaud Lagardère, managing partner of Lagardère SCA, will assume the role of chairman of the board, a position currently held by Bodo Uebber.

The National Air Transportation Association (NATA) is calling on its members to urge their congressional representatives to include language in pending legislation to repeal the “fuel fraud” provision. The provision, part of the 2005 Highway Bill, changed the collection of taxes for non-commercial jet fuel and required them to be deposited into the Highway Trust Fund.

Lakeland, Fla.-based Gulf Coast Avionics has entered into a marketing and sales partnership with Platinum Aviation in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach. Under the agreement, Gulf Coast Avionics will be the exclusive supplier of avionics sales, service and installation and pilot supply products to Platinum Aviation.

“Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor gloom of night…” With apologies to the U.S. Postal Service, that saying could have easily been the pre-Super Bowl mantra for every Indianapolis-area FBO.

Toulouse, France-based regional turboprop manufacturer ATR is pressing ahead with plans to increase its production rate progressively over the next three years while preparing to add a larger, 90-seat model to its product line, which now consists of the 50-seat ATR 42-600 and 74-seat ATR 72-600.

Construction began at the end of January on a runway expansion project at Florida’s Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport with a price tag of nearly $800 million. The work will shift and lengthen Runway 9R/27L from its current 5,276 feet to 8,000 feet, giving the rapidly growing airport two parallel runways that can accommodate airline flights.

Other than seeing a ramp full of stored ex-DayJet Eclipse aircraft in 2008 after the collapse of the Florida-based air-taxi firm, it’s rare now to sight more than a couple of the type together at an airport–unless you happen to pass through Henderson Executive Airport near Las Vegas, Nev.

Preliminary Report: Large-Cabin Jet Destroyed in Runway Excursion

Gulfstream IV, Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo, Feb. 12, 2012–The U.S.-registered twinjet was destroyed after it left the runway while landing at Bukavu-Kavumu Airport, slid down an embankment and broke in two. According to reports, both pilots, one of the seven passengers and two people on the ground were killed.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) selected the Becker Avionics DVSC6100 digital audio and intercom system for the agency’s new Pilatus PC-12 Spectre fleet. The Spectre is a special-mission version of the PC-12 with a retractable sensor platform, nine-passenger utility interior and sensor operator’s console.

With Congressional differences resolved, the FAA Reauthorization Bill has been signed by the President and is now a formal government act. A done deal, right? Well, perhaps not totally done.

ExecuJet Aviation’s growing global FBO network now extends from new facilities in Australasia to its rebranded operation at Cambridge Airport in the UK. Late last year, the Switzerland-based group unveiled new bases at Wellington International Airport in New Zealand and at Melbourne’s Essendon Airport in Australia.

JetTech received an STC for installation of Garmin’s G600 avionics system in the Cessna Citation 500, 501, 550, 551 and S550. JetTech-approved Garmin dealers are eligible to install the G600 STC in customer aircraft.

Garmin received an STC for installation of the G500H helicopter avionics system in the Robinson R44. The installation requires a 10-hole instrument panel. For R44s with the seven- or nine-hole panel, a custom panel is available from Garmin, or customers can purchase one from Robinson.

Hewlett-Packard signed up for the Gray Stone Advisors aviation performance dashboard two years ago, according to Rich Walsh, HP’s director of global resiliency and aviation. Walsh is a Gulfstream V captain and flies 150 to 200 hours a year. “I’m a liaison with corporate and I have accountability for the spending in this department, the variances and process improvements,” he said.
