Air India wants $1B from Boeing for 787 delays

India

Air India is seeking up to $1 billion from Boeing Co. for costs associated with the late-arriving 787 airplane.

The Hindustan Times reports that Air India was supposed to receive its first Everett, Wash.-built 787 in September 2008, but that it won't receive its first of the delayed new airplanes until next April. Boeing has reportedly offered Air India $145 million for the delay.
