Why Russian Airplanes Crash

I read that the Polish government airplanes crashed today. I think that many Russian airplanes crash all the time. Why do they crash? Is it that the pilots are not so good or is it that the airplanes are not so good. Any way it is very sads that they crashed.

Below is a link to the news report on the BBC website. There are several varying reports to what happened in this case and more news will emerge in the coming hours and days especially now that the flight recorders have been found.

It seems that the aircraft clipped trees during approach.
