What is the point of Unions?
I have been watchings the BA cabin crew union takeing all the cabin crews on strike and they are just loosing money. What is the point of the union maybe they just make money for the union leaders? I know that Unions look after the individual peoples but they seem so bad at getting news deals with employers. What good things have unions done in the last 10 years. Nothing.

I have been a member of the IPA for years and it has not really helped me at all. I have it as some support when that dark moment comes and I have someone to call. I think most people pay their subs for that very reason.
Unions like BALPA have a loud voice when it comes to representing the greater pilot community. I understand that the flight crew unions have had some input with the new FCL legislation.
So, unions have their place and it is not always for collective bargaining.
