British Airways Strike

We all have seen the reports of the cabin crew strike over the last few weeks, and we even had a discussion about this when FCF was on facebook. How does everybody think this will affect the industry? Obviously it is damaging to BA, but I feel it could have a wider spread effect. The last thing that the industry needs is a further lack of confidence. Lets hope the situation gets sorted out soon.

The BBC coverage is totally

The BBC coverage is totally biased towards the union. The CSDs get something in the region of £80k a year and don't serve the passengers at all. BA just want them to pull their weight and do a little work. Times have changed, airlines can't carry these over paid cabin crew anymore. The health of BA effects us all as it will have a knock on to their future recruitment plans.

The BA cabin crew should sack their union and get back to work.

I think the longer the

I think the longer the strikes go on, the more cabin crew will go back to work. Some already have and I think that they realise that the strikes are not helping their cause at all. BA have said that the offers will get worse as time goes on, and I would have expected the crew to accept the latest offer, however it didn't even get that far because UNITE believe that there should be no losses and continue as is. This is unrealistic with the losses being made.

The Union seems to be doing more damage than good at the moment, the public support seems to be with the airline, especially when they realise how much some of the staff are earning.

Interesting article in the

Interesting article in the Financial Times talking about how BA are putting on an increased schedule during this weekends strikes as more cabin crew are volunteering for work. The article is available here: http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/a23bb64e-36ba-11df-b810-00144feabdc0.html

BA strikers to lose travel

BA strikers to lose travel perks

BA have announced that anybody who participated in the strike last weekend, and any more who join in this weekend will lose their free or heavily discounted flights.

I'm sure anybody who hadn't gone on strike will reconsider but I'm sure it won't encourage anybody to come back to work who was!

You won't believe

You won't believe it!

O'Leary's gone mad, he's helping BA!:

These BA cabin crews people

These BA cabin crews people need to think who does the putting of the food on the tables. If BA goes bankrupt they will all be not having jobs then I will make laughs at them.

they should be working at jobs and be happy that they have jobs. I would likes to be a BA cabin crew person as the moneys is great.
